Are there any regions or communities where health care works better for people and also costs less? Yes, it turns out that these places exist. So how do we fix health care. Well, we could just do what they do. Or we can make up stuff about death panels and make fools of ourselves. Either way.

Random thought on medicare funding…

This is probably a naive thought, but…

So medicaid/medicare is one of those exploding costs that will doom us all if left unchecked but the other part of it is that the demographic shift caused by the impending retirement of the boomers will cause the funding to be strained.

So what if people have an option to choose medicare as their insurance plan and pay market-competitive premiums to them? Wouldn’t that go a long way towards easing the problem?
Is this part of someone’s plan somewhere?
