This is probably a naive thought, but…

So medicaid/medicare is one of those exploding costs that will doom us all if left unchecked but the other part of it is that the demographic shift caused by the impending retirement of the boomers will cause the funding to be strained.

So what if people have an option to choose medicare as their insurance plan and pay market-competitive premiums to them? Wouldn’t that go a long way towards easing the problem?
Is this part of someone’s plan somewhere?
