Breaking News from the Sonic Twitter feed!
Zune and Mean Magazine put together a project this summer called Cinemash which they call “the exclusive digital series that lets celebrity talent mash up their favorite scenes from classic movies.”
What does that mean? People reenacting, for the most part, scenes from other movies.
Then you get stuff like Common and Christopher Mintz-Plasse in Training Day or Channing Tatum and Charlyne Yi in Dirty Dancing or my personal favorite: Reno 911! and Human Giant in Point Break.
Being that this is a Zune sponsored gig, you can watch and download these straight from the Zune Marketplace or stream them from MSN video.
Here’s the Cinemash trailer:
And because i can, the Point Break cinemash.
YouTube – Kunstrad EM 2009 Carla und Henriette Hochdorfer.
As I watched this, I could only think of the hours of training and how it could have gone wrong. Then I slapped myself and just enjoyed the awesome performance of the fixed bike acrobat girls.
The team website for the sisters Hochdorfer tells me who they are but since my German fails me, I have no clue what they’re trying to tell me.
So then what kind of championship is this? Women’s pair Artistic Cycling. Nope, not making it up.
Bonus explainer: What are the nets at the end of the video for? Cycle Ball. No, i’m not making this up either. Watch this explainer about Cycle Ball on “Trans World Sport”.
I don’t know how this didn’t jump right up to the TOP of my radar when it was first made.
A number of people put together video mashups to go along with the tracks from Girl Talk’s Feed The Animals and let me tell you, they’re spectacular.
Nice reuse of the original music videos that were sampled and very slick edits to put it all together.

Interesting problem... The junta that controls Fiji is incapable of providing infrastructure to its own people to drink clean water. It also depends on the good will of the Fiji Water company, to the point of intimidating journalists and monitoring the island nation's communications.
Oh well. Tap water for the win!
Shared by JonOn September 23, Eastern Standard will transform into a Prohibition-era speakeasy for one night, complete with period cocktails, food, and a secret password required for entry. Found via...
You even have to call them to get the secret password to use at the door!
OH. MY.
We must go.
Who's in?
After a week’s hiatus, let me tell you, there’s been big action at Peabody Sonic!
They had a hiring fair at the hotel next door on Friday and got a nice mention in the Boston Herald’s business section where the franchise owner is shown enjoying the seating!
As of this afternoon, the seating and roofs for most of the drive-in bays roofs are now complete.
Excellent progress and i look forward to a cherry limeade at the end of the month!
So I started using LiveSearch last year due to the awesome background pictures that they put up every day. As I use it though, i’m pleasantly surprised by what I get back.
Today’s example: “Calories in a cherry”
and Google’s:
In this case, Bing’s response was better as it gave me the answer I was looking for right off the bat, not just pages to go through. The pages listed for both result sets do look like they’d have the right answer though.
